FORMER NBA STAR CLIFF ROBINSON IS STARTING A MARIJUANA BUSINESS

Former NBA All-Star Cliff Robinson is getting into the marijuana business.
According to the Portland Business Journal, the 49-year-old has partnered with a group of investors for the opening of a grow operation in Portland, OR., with product expected by the end of the year.
With a growing profile as a marijuana advocate, Robinson has registered the business name after his new nickname: Uncle Spliffy.
The endeavor comes months after Oregon legalized recreational use of marijuana in July, becoming one of four states, plus the District of Columbia, to do so.
“People in Oregon know me as a basketball player, but I want to distill the stigma around cannabis, the misperception that athletes and cannabis are incompatible,” Robinson told the paper.
Robinson played for five teams in the NBA, from 1989 to 2007, during which he was named an NBA All-Star in 1994 and Sixth Man of a Year in 1993.
